On Trials And Suffering

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved. The marvellous richness of human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome. The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful if there were no dark valleys to traverse. At the darkest hour remember that the most ardent dawn awaits and will prevail, and worry not, for worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength” –

A.K. Ramanujan, poet (1929 – 1993)
