As ever it was almost impossible to pick a Top 40 and despite trying to whittle it down it has ended as a Top 48 - it's my list and I'll do what I want with it.
A few artists appear in the list twice. Releasing two albums in 12 months is quite something and I found it difficult to pick one over the other so they are both included.
I stress that the list is in no particular order - although there can be no shadow of a doubt that album of the year is unreservedly given to Deux Furieuses for their stunning debut Tracks Of Wire. Other artists know what I think of their albums, and they know that they are pretty damn close to the top to (Yes, I'm looking at you!)
