News - New Releases From Richie Campbell And The Meow Meows

Portuguese reggae sensation Richie Campbell has announced the UK release of his double A-side single, ‘Best Friend/I Feel Amazing’, taken from his third album, ‘In the 876’ – out 31st July.
Both tracks have already received staunch support from veteran reggae DJ David Rodigan of BBC Radio 1Xtra since the release of the album in Europe, which shot to the top of the Portuguese iTunes Chart following its unveiling in May.
Having consistently sold out shows across Portugal and rocked audiences at festivals all over Europe, Richie’s incredible live show is coming to London on 29th July at The Garage in Highbury. Be sure not to miss this rare appearance from one of reggae’s freshest stars.

Brighton-based ska-punk outfit The Meow Meows return with a new video to coincide with the release of their forthcoming EP, ‘Friends On Benefits’, out on 13th July. Produced and directed by Chris Hugall (The Skints, Slaves, 2:54), the video premiered over on Clash, and brings the bands explosive energy to the forefront.

Born from the ashes of several bands from the south-coast ska-punk scene, the collective began playing live festivals and shows together in 2005. Their reputation on the circuit has built steadily, and recent years have seen the band appear on bills with reggae starlet Hollie Cook andDavid Rodigan favourites The Skints, as well as ska legends The Skatalites.
Their reputation as a live entity is clearly highly regarded, and it is easy to see why, even on record. ‘Friends on Benefits’ is a wonderfully danceable cut, showcasing a style that has clearly been refined through years of moving feet in Brighton basements.
