News - Dengue Dengue Dengue Preview New Album

If Dengue Dengue Dengue’s unique take on Peruvian cumbia filtered through psychedelic techno and dancehall riddims was what first caught the world’s attention, it’s their ability to keep adding new rhythms and influences to their colorful sound that has confirmed them as one of the most inspiring acts of the Global Club Music scene. After following up on their debut album ‘La Alianza Profana’ with their 2014 Enchufada EP‘Serpiente Dorada’, they are now ready to give listeners a sneak peek into their forthcoming sophomore album with the new track Murdah.

You’ve heard them explore the slow-burning tempos of cumbia, dancehall or even zouk bass before, so what better way to announce their return than with a totally new approach to their unmistakable sound? Enter Murdah, a track where footwork’s infectiously fast beats provide a whole new direction to Dengue Dengue Dengue’s unique sonic universe, paving the way for the Peruvian duo’s highly-anticipated sophomore album (coming to Enchufada in late 2015).

Relentlessly pounding drums at seemingly impossible speeds, looping tribal percussions, hypnotizing synths and rapid-fire vocal chops come together to create an intense and surprising dance floor experience like only Dengue Dengue Dengue can provide. If this is only the first taste of what’s to come, we think it’s safe to say that Global Club Music might have its best year yet (and we’re still only halfway through).
