News - Sofi de la Torre Releases Title Track From Upcoming EP

Spanish singer-songwriter Sofi de la Torre is pleased to announce the title track to her new EP, ‘That Isn’t You’, set to drop on 13th April 2015.

With a sound that calls to mind a female Drake and Banks laced with a California vibe, the Berlin-based artist’s raw emotional overtones mirror the introspective life reflections common to us all: both inclusive and yet isolated.

Sofi de la Torre began writing songs at the tender age of 14, and moved to L.A. four years later to study music. This was followed by a migration to London, where she wrote and recorded her debut album, having signed a publishing deal in 2011 with Sony/ATV. Following its release, Sofi - who lists her hobbies as making music and eating hamburgers - went through a period of self-discovery and found herself experimenting with fresh influences, heavy beats and new songwriting angles.

This led to her teaming up with Finnish producer/songwriters Jonas Karlsson and Axel Ehnström, a time in which she travelled back and forth between Berlin and Helsinki and wrote a handful of songs including the widely popular ‘Vermillion’. Heralded by Billboard as a ‘total game-changer’, it was featured on The Guardian’s playlist alongside Charlie XCX, as well as being featured on Grimes’ blog. The track was also remixed by deep house producers Crom & Thanh and subsequently played on BBC Radio 1 by none other than Tiësto.

Involved in every aspect of her artistry, Sofi writes her own music, shoots her own pictures, designs the artwork, edits the videos and takes care of styling. An artist whose talents seem to have no bounds, this EP is a masterful piece of work that truly looks set to bring her the attention she deserves.
