News - Pulco Covers Shakin' Stevens!

Written by Bob Heatlie and produced by Dave Edmunds, this was Shakin' Stevens' fourth and last Number 1 single in the UK.  Originally planned for release in 1984, Shaky nobly postponed it a year so that it wouldn't clash with the original version of Band Aid's 'Do They Know It's Christmas'.

Fianlly released in 1985 it was the Xmas Number 1 for that year, subsequently being included on seemingly every festive compilation since.

Says Pulco: "Now it's not something I'd normally think about recording but when asked by my friends Martin & Huw to do a cover of a classic Christmas tune for their excellent radio show 'Take Off Your Sunglasses' I totally jumped at the chance.  The resulting masterpiece is my version of Shaky's 80's favourite 'Merry Christmas Everyone'.
